Serfi exemplified courage as leaving her 16 years at P&G and founding Idea Bakery, beating breast cancer 13 years ago while her mother was also fighting the disease at the same time, learning to inspire courage in others and emphasized constantly reigniting courage after failures and taking the failure in a team on as her own to talk about in-depth, dust off, manage and coach better to move on. “Business is personal and to inspire courage you need to look at the whole person. You also need to remove barriers to courage not only in your business life but also in your personal life”.
Serfi’s Recipe for Courage:
1 cup of imagination:
envisioning the happy end state
1 pinch of belief:
in yourself, in your support circle and in the universe
(The proportions of these may vary in the whole picture depending on context)
Stir with sprinkles of fear, doubt and anxiety so these melt away in the mix.
Last, add the make-or-break ingredient: 1 gallon of DO!
Bake at 500 degrees with burning passion for your cause.
